Elle reports on singer Shi Shi Sun's restaurant venture and her pre-concert singing bowl therapy with Ashley.
Elle follows singer-songwriter Shi Shi Sun as she savors the quiet moments of city life. She says life's seasoning shouldn't lack laughter and good food — is there any better combination?
ELLE: Is this your first time experiencing singing bowls? Why were you interested?
Shi Shi: This is my first experience, and I've been looking forward to it for a long time. I've been paying more attention to physical and mental health these past few years, and many friends around me have been sharing their experiences. Plus, as a musician myself, I became curious about sound healing.
Originating from India, singing bowls were initially everyday vessels, later used for deep meditation and chanting, and have now become important tools for sound therapy. Each bowl has its own unique 'sonic DNA,' producing distinctly different frequencies that are nearly impossible to replicate.
At cocoon lab, courses range from hot yoga and aerial yoga to singing bowl sound healing sessions led by Ashley, offering a space to reconnect with your inner self.
Beyond her upcoming Legacy concert, Shi Shi has also taken on the role of restaurant founder with FABULA, joking that she prepared the restaurant like a super-sized album, hoping everyone who visits can feel her warmth.
